general industry STANDARDS


This course is designed for entry level employees and introduces them to Federal/Cal OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as general industry safety and health principles.


CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY STANDARDS


This course is designed for entry level employees and introduces them to Federal/Cal OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as construction industry safety and health principles.


LOCKOUT/TAGOUT


This course is designed for employees responsible for performing any servicing or maintenance on a machine or piece of equipment where the unexpected energizing, start-up or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury.


HEARING CONSERVATION


This course is designed for employers with hazardous noise environments or equipment.  The course will include: training on the use and care of all hearing protectors provided to employees; the effects of noise on hearing; the purpose of hearing protectors, the advantages, disadvantages, and attenuation of various types, and instructions on selection, fitting, use, and care; the purpose of audiometric testing, and an explanation of the test procedures..


personal protective equipment (PPE)

This course is designed to help employers meet the OSHA training requirements for PPE.  This course will include: when PPE is necessary; what PPE is necessary; how to properly don (put on), doff (take off), adjust, and wear PPE; the proper care, maintenance, useful life, and disposal of the PPE; knowledge test to demonstrate an understanding of and the ability to use PPE properly.


hazard communication


This course is designed to help employers meet the OSHA training requirements for Hazard Communication.  This course will include: the requirements of Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1910, Section 1200; operations in the work area where hazardous chemicals are present; the location and availability of the written hazard communication program; methods and observations that may be used to detect the presence or release of a hazardous chemical in the work area; the physical and health hazards of chemicals in the work area; measures employees can take to protect themselves; the details of the hazard communication program developed by the employer; and how to read a Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

10-hour General Industry


This 10-hour outreach course covers specific OSHA requirements as they apply to general industry work sites and teaches safety awareness which helps in recognizing and reducing the risks of hazards.  This interactive training is intended for entry level workers as an orientation and covers safety and health hazards workers may face at general industry work sites.  In this course, hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention is emphasized.


Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a 10-Hour General Industry Outreach Course completion card and course certificate. (Actual course length is 13 hours)


30-HOUR GENERAL INDUSTRY


This 30-hour outreach course covers specific OSHA requirements as they apply to general industry work sites and teaches safety awareness which helps in recognizing and reducing the risks of hazards.  This interactive training is intended for entry level workers as an orientation and covers safety and health hazards workers may face at general industry work sites.  In this course, hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention is emphasized.


Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a 30-Hour General Industry Outreach Course completion card and course certificate. (Actual course length is 37.5 hours)
